Meet me
How does a former world hockey champion end up renovating houses, designing interiors and devising functional solutions? Quite simply by combining what she does best with what she loves – and then doing it.
I design spaces for modern urban living. Modern urban living is connected living, not only in terms of media, but also in terms of space. Beyond nine-to-five jobs, the lines between work and private life are blurring. Time together is precious. Everything is now. Everything is possible at the same time: family and career. Living and working.
Loving and working. Cooking and thinking. Playing and cooking. Grand receptions and little escapes.
For this, we need contemporary spaces, spaces with many dimensions. Functional and aesthetic requirements are equally important. But above all, living means being at home, in the place where we feel comfortable.
Our home reflects our life.
It is as individual as we are.
There are countless stories about the magic of the number twelve. Most of them are ancient, like those from Babylon, the ancient world of gods, or the Bible. In numerology, twelve represents good fortune. What would our calendar be without it? I wasn’t aware of any of this back when I was given the number twelve as my jersey number at my hockey club in Rüsselsheim.
For an athlete, the shirt number is always something special. No matter what number it is, it’s part of who you are. It’s the constant in a world of rapid change: the locations, the opponents and the games themselves. Putting on the jersey with the same number is like a ritual. The number helps you focus and gives you strength.
For fourteen years, I ran onto the field wearing the number twelve: for my club, with the national team and with the Olympic team. Most of the time, we were successful. Very successful, in fact. I associate part of my life with the number twelve.
When you stop one day, you leave something behind with your number and your name that remains. That is also the goal of my profession today. That’s why I took the number twelve with me. And as far as luck is concerned, the ancient mystics were really right.
